Because You Give, This is What We Do!

I remember the early days of Cup of Blue when we first started handing out Gratefulness Bags. I would often worry about whether we had enough bags and goodies—whether the goodies were "enough" to show our Departments how much we appreciate and love them. But time and again, our communities have proven that they never let us down! They truly love to give, and give they do!!

Then came the quest for the perfect container to hold all the goodies we were preparing to distribute. We ventured to LOWES in search of an alternative to our usual bags. When LOWES learned about our mission, they generously filled the back of my truck with blue five-gallon buckets!!

Giving in Work

So far this year, we have been able hand out over 30 buckets, including sending three buckets back to South Carolina with our Cup of Blue guest speakers. These Special Troopers are ALWAYS with us on Cup of Blue night.

These buckets are full of snacks, toys, chocolate, pens, hand sanitizer, etc.  All from a grateful community!

Several weeks ago, we were able to spend time with Chief Flores from the Ft. Valley PD and his LEO warriors.   My husband treated Chief to a Cup of Blue tumbler and a bucket of love to his department.

I had the privilege of visiting Crawford County.  A blue bucket was given to the Roberta PD and was warmly received by a smile and hug.  This city was also a donor to the Cup of Blue!  Thank you ever so much!!

While in Roberta, I stopped by the Crawford County SO where I was warmly greeted by these precious Peacekeepers.  I just LOVE letting them know how much we appreciate them!

One of the most profound things we are able to do is REMEMBER. Whether it’s a funeral, Visitation or a Memorial Service, we do our best to stand with the family and Department of the fallen. This July we heard that Crisp County was having a Memorial for Deputy Browne. I remember hearing about this fallen Hero a year ago and knew where I wanted to be. It was a hard, emotional and beautiful time. I’m so glad we went. There were many hugs, tears and smiles. Sheriff Hancock and his Peacemakers have been through so much, yet never fail to pick up that badge everyday and do what they have been called to do.My (Tess) heart beats to hug another mother. I usually can’t speak many words, but there are few words needed when a hug or a “knowing” eye-contact is enough. I have been “called” to love the crushed in spirit by being present. It’s the most wonderful, heart crushing, beautiful thing that has come out of our loss.

We at Cup of Blue are grateful for your donations, prayers, and encouraging words. We couldn't do this ministry without the strength given to us by our Creator Father. Your support means the world to us and we are deeply thankful for this opportunity.
